What is the difference between Goblins & Gremlins?

Found myself asking this today, here is what I found...

Gremlins were once close relatives of the common Goblin. Many similarities between the two remain, though the main diference between the two lies in their motivations. Goblins seek power and prestige, while Gremlins seek wealth and possessions. This sublte diference led the two races down very seperate paths. Gremlins seperated from Goblin society and founded a great city in the swamps west of Briar Hollow, where they worshipped Tupamaros; the god of greed. (His shrine is still guarded by swamp dragons in the ruins of the Gremlin city) Following the path of Tupamaros, the Gremlins devoted themselves to a personal code of business. They treated everything in life like a business dealing, always seeking to profit from every action. For a time this led to a prosperous civilization. Eventually though, greed and jealousy would destroy the great city in the swamp (which burnt down, fell over and then sank into the swamp). Scattered to the ends of Grimmwold, Gremlins found ways to fit into other societies. They were literate ambitious mercherants willing to fill whatever needs they could find; working so hard that in almost any city you could find a gremlin book keeper, shopmaster or contract writer. They never again would congregate in any one place. Male gremlins were sold into "apprentiships", which magically bound them into service to the highest bidder until they were old enought o set out on their own. Female gremlins were sold into marriages similar to apprenticeships, only without an expiration date. Thus Gremlin society continues into the current age of the world.

Radical Face - Welcome Home

This track is quite wondrous, you might recognise it from the Nikon Ad which is damn heart warming. The band are from Jacksonville, Florida and you can purchase their album on i-tunes. Pretty. Cool.

TOP TIP: FOR CHRISTMAS DAY

Eat many sausages. (Unless you are Jewish/Vegetarian)

Cat Fact!

Cats lose almost as much fluid in the saliva while grooming themselves as they do through urination.

FOE - The Fox

This is FOE, FOE is Hannah Louise Clark & Adam M Crisp. This is a song called The Fox. I had Christmas dinner last night and Christmas lunch today. That's 2 in under 24 hours. Casual.

Bleeding Knees Club - Teenage Girls

This is Bleeding Knees Club, a 3 piece from Australia. This is a short but sweet and dreadfully catchy little track. The sun is setting as I type this and it looks quite magical. Just saying.

TOP TIP: FOR BEATING A WINTER COLD

TUCK YOUR SHIRT IN.

Leeds Castle - Segway Tour

So firstly, Leeds Castle is not in Leeds, its in Kent. Secondly, you can do a super little Segway tour of it. I will be honest, the brief history you are given is not all that informative but heck, your on an off road Segway. Pretty Cool. I did it with my man a couple of months ago and it was a real hoot.

ps. that is totally not me above, that picture is from the website.

For more details Click Here.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Ffunny Ffrends

Unknown Mortal Orchestra are great. They are from New Zealand. This track is wondrous and if you would like to watch their super new video for 'Bicycle', its basically a hot girl doing a load of naughty stuff - Click Here.

ET Fact!

The sound of E.T. walking was made by someone squishing her hands in Jelly.

tUnE-yArDs - Bizness

This song is not at all new. Buts its bloody great and so is the video. It comes from tUnE-yArDs second album which came out in April this year. Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose.

Keaton Henson - You Don't Know How Lucky You Are

This is Keaton Henson, this track is insanely lovely. The only problem is, poor old Keaton suffers from crazy nerves (as in he gets really nervous, he does not have a kooky nervous system) thus he very very rarely plays live. Come on Keaton, you're crazy good.

Nut Fact!

Peanuts are one of the ingredients of dynamite.

The Black Keys - Lonely Boy

This is a wondrous track from The Black Keys new album El Camino. OUT NOW YO.

Alt J - Tesselate

This is one of my most favourite songs at the moment. If you type Alt and J into a Mac computer you get a little triangle which is rather nice. They come from Leeds and are quite excellent live. They used to be a band called FILMS.

You can listen to more of their tracks on their Soundcloud. Enjoy!

A New Friends Table - Paris

A New Friends Table is pretty excellent. I was in Paris a few weeks ago and went along with my man, he does not really like people so I was amazed he was up for it. You are texted an address and door codes on the day and off you go, to a complete strangers house to have dinner with 8 other complete strangers. We had an absolutely amazing 7 course dinner with a different wine with each course for €50 a head. Guests included a publicist from Yahoo, the online editor of the New Yorker Magazine, a power plant engineer and a hand bag designer. Find out more, click HERE.

Katherine Jenkins - No Woman, No Cry (SERIOUSLY)

This is Katherine Jenkins doing to most mind blowingly abysmal performance of No Woman, No Cry. Bob would naaat like this one bit. Oh dear Katherine, lucky you've got nice boobs.

Alabama Shakes - Hold On

This is Alabama Shakes, once again, I know this has been kicking about for a little while but since this blog is so dangerously new I figured can get away with it. Anyway, Brittany Howard the singer is real good. Guess where they are from? (Alabama).

BASTILLE - Overjoyed

This is a pleasant video and I enjoy the song. From South London, the main dude is called Dan Smith. If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning (but that's not really relevant).

Mole Fact!

A mole can dig a tunnel 300 feet long in just one night.

Marthrown Roundhouse

Marthrown Roundhouse is pretty cool. Its a Celtic Iron Age Roundhouse in Dumfries. I will certainly be checking it out in the spring perhaps. Here is my favourite sentence on their website (describing toilet facilities) -

"Come and try it out when you get the chance – this truly is a poo with a difference!!!!"

It sleeps 16 and you cook everything on an open fire. There is even an Iron Age Sauna and Jacuzzi.

If you fancy a poo with a difference click HERE to find out more details.

The Revival Hour - Hold Back

The Revival Hour are DH Stith and JM Lapham. This is very pleasant indeed. Have a little listen.

If you like it and you would like to buy it simply just click here.

Theme Park - Milk

This is Milk by Theme Park. Its right good. Theme Park are 2 brothers and 2 others. Pretty Cool.

Lianne La Havas ft. Willy Mason - No Room For Doubt

Lianne La Havas is a smiley bad ass. I am late in posting this but since I only started this blog today I feel I can be forgiven. Its very bloody pleasant.

There seems to be an awful lot of 'Wicked Game' covers flying about at the minute. This is an old one but certainly my favourite. Go Exlovers.

IO Echo are based out of LA and this song is very enjoyable. FACTS.

Post War Years - All Eyes

Post War Years have been away for a little while, but are back with this absolute beauty. It is out on December 12th on Labour Of Love Records and the album is out on Chess Club to whom they have recently signed next year. How wonderful!

Milo Greene - 1957

This is a very pretty performance of the song 1957 by the band Milo Greene, they are in a lovely cave. The session is from In The Open who have some lovely live performances from all sorts of artist in all sorts of spots all over the US of A.

Mozart Parties - Black Cloud

This is a track by Mozart Parties, Mozart Parties is a chap called James Bennett. This song is dead good.

Rebecca & Fiona – Dance

These two ladies come from Sweden. I enjoy their song Dance. Listen to it below. Electopop Yo.

This little slice of excellence comes from the very talented Mr Gabriel Bruce. He used to be in Loverman and he's got brown hair. Out TODAY on Off Modern.

Sweet Carolina - Ryan Adams & Laura Marling (Abbey Road 2011)

ITS IMMENSELY ENJOYABLE.

Saint Saviour - Some Things Change

This track is by Saint Saviour (her real name is Becky Jones but imagine if her dad was called Mr Saviour, that would be pretty cool). It's from her forthcoming debut album 'Boudicea' which will be released in 2012. She sang on Groove Armadas Black Light thus might recognise her lovely voice.
